Welcome to Neptune's Script Database.
We use this system to receive and catalogue scripts that are pitched to us.
If you have a play or production you'd like us to consider for programming, we invite you to use our submission form to upload the script and any other pertinent information about your pitch. Your "application" will remain active and you may edit the materials and/or data at any time.
Submissions to the database are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Neptune Theatre will not necessarily respond to all submissions.
Neptune Theatre continues in its mandate to open up the theatre doors and make sure all artists feel that they have access to the creative process of Atlantic Canada’s A house theatre company. Neptune Theatre wants to produce local work and Atlantic Canadian stories.
The Neptune Season is curated over an 18 month period:
Timeline:
April/May - Plays may be read and AD begins compiling new season of productions
Sept - Draft season discussed
Oct - Draft season budgeted
Nov - Draft season & budget presented to Board of Directors
Jan/Feb - Season announced and on sale
June 1st - Season begins
May 31st - Season Ends
Playwrights are encouraged to submit a cover letter and synopsis with their finished script. Please send any information you wish, or can, on the script you are submitting; this may include development history, inspiration, production history. You may also wish to include details of your writing journey & career, although this is not required.
Please do not submit unfinished work, or work that you do not own the copyright for.
